Comments/Description

Safa Community School was established in September 2015 following the success of our sister school, Safa Private School, to provide an all-through and a secondary option for the local community. The school follows the National Curriculum for England. The school has grown from 120 to 530 after one year, and extensive state of the art new buildings support a small school feel with a family atmosphere where every child is treated as an individual.

All class teachers are UK qualified, highly experienced and attend regular in-service training to ensure that they keep up-to-date with curriculum changes from the UK. Specialist teaching in music, Arabic and physical education starts in FS1 and for Mandarin, German, French and Spanish from Y1. Uniquely the upper primary ages benefit from a combination of some subject specialist teaching (design and technology, science, art, cookery) and class based teaching – with obvious accelerated academic and all-round progress. All secondary staff have to demonstrate excellent examination results before being accepted to teach at Safa Community School.

The excellent sports, music and performing arts (including dance) teaching in the superb purpose built venues ensures that these areas are significant strengths at SCS, with a strong programme of competitive sports. Support is available for children who require long or short-term intervention to ensure that they attain the expected level of achievement. The school has a gifted and talented programme which celebrates the highest achievements in all curricular areas. In addition to this, the school offers a very comprehensive after-school activity programme, including a Prep Club where children complete their homework.
