When the BSME CPD Programme began in earnest, in 2011, we had only half a dozen schools officially listed as ‘host schools’. To date, thirty-five schools have already hosted for us and we now have forty-seven schools (approximately 65% of the total membership!) registered as willing hosts. That is a fantastic statistic and a real testament to the credibility of the the rapidly growing CPD Programme.

Such keen support is not only much appreciated, it is also essential to the success of the programme. Without it, the BSME CPD Programme simply could not run in the manner in which it does currently. Our sincere thanks go to all our host schools across the region.

How should host schools book their free places?

To claim host school free places, you will need to fill in the Host School Free Place form. Please click on the link below to download the form.

Booking Form - Host School Free Place

Please email this form to Sam via cpdassistant@bsme.org.uk before the course booking deadline. Please DO NOT register your free places online - all delegates registered online will be charged. Should host schools wish to book any additional (chargeable) places, they should do so on-line, in the ‘Programmes and Courses’ Section of the CPD area.

Kind Regards,

BSME CPD Coordinator

Comments/Description

St Christopher's School is a non-profit making institution providing a British-style education to students aged 3 to 18 years. The school year is similar to that in the UK and includes a minimum of 180 days of teaching (classroom staff work up to ten days beyond this). Each section of the school is purpose-built for educational use and all classrooms are air-conditioned and well equipped. The Senior School campus includes a large sports hall, swimming pool, garden and recreational / physical education areas, as well as the normal range of specialist rooms and a drama hall. In recent years the Senior School has been enhanced with a large library, 6th Form areas, 11 science laboratories, 3 art rooms and a music suite with practice rooms. A major recent development is the addition of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme which runs alongside our highly successful A-level programme.
The Junior School moved to a magnificent new building in 2005. Their new site includes specialist science laboratories, music rooms and rooms for Art, Design Technology, Information Technology, Arabic and French. There is also a full-size artificial turf playing field, a sports hall and landscaped gardens. In 2007 the Infant School moved to its own fantastic new facility, linked to the Junior buildings at the Saar site. Infants now have their own hall, Information Technology Labs, Music, Arabic and Learning Support rooms. Teachers are, in the great majority, British trained - other staff have equivalent qualifications from other countries. All Infant classes and most Junior classes have access to classroom assistants. Maximum class sizes vary from 20 to 24 depending on the year group - with smaller classes in most Year 10 – 13 examination groups.
