When the BSME CPD Programme began in earnest, in 2011, we had only half a dozen schools officially listed as ‘host schools’. To date, thirty-five schools have already hosted for us and we now have forty-seven schools (approximately 65% of the total membership!) registered as willing hosts. That is a fantastic statistic and a real testament to the credibility of the the rapidly growing CPD Programme.

Such keen support is not only much appreciated, it is also essential to the success of the programme. Without it, the BSME CPD Programme simply could not run in the manner in which it does currently. Our sincere thanks go to all our host schools across the region.

How should host schools book their free places?

To claim host school free places, you will need to fill in the Host School Free Place form. Please click on the link below to download the form.

Booking Form - Host School Free Place

Please email this form to Sam via cpdassistant@bsme.org.uk before the course booking deadline. Please DO NOT register your free places online - all delegates registered online will be charged. Should host schools wish to book any additional (chargeable) places, they should do so on-line, in the ‘Programmes and Courses’ Section of the CPD area.

Kind Regards,

BSME CPD Coordinator

Comments/Description

Rashid School for Boys was established in 1986, by His Highness Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, The school offers high quality education to UAE Nationals aged from three to eighteen. The school has outstanding levels of equipment and resources and is located on a beautiful campus in Nad Al Sheba. For pupils from KG 1 through to Year 13, Rashid School for Boys has developed an innovative curriculum based on the UK National Curriculum and sections of the UAE Ministry of Education Curriculum.

The school is divided into two sections. The Primary Section is three form entry and is based in a well resourced building, which was completed in 2003. The atmosphere in the section is lively and exciting, and developments throughout the curriculum keep the Primary Section at the leading edge of international education. Each year group has two classrooms and an activity area and the school is built around a large library and learning resource area. There are specialist rooms for ICT and music. Students are well supported by an active Learning Support Department and every class also has an experienced teaching assistant to support the class teacher. The active use of ICT by all the members of the section helps make learning an enjoyable and rewarding experience. The Secondary Section is equally well resourced and a combination of small class sizes and imaginative teaching leads to a stimulating and positive learning environment. In Key Stage 3 students follow courses based on the UK (English) National Curriculum, but modified for UAE Nationals learning in a second language. At Key Stage 4 students choose from a selection of both GCSE and non-GCSE options, depending on their level of language skill. In Year 12, students can choose between AS Levels, A-levels or a one year High School Diploma course. The HSD course is internally accredited and can be awarded at one of four levels: pass, merit, distinction and advanced. Students from Rashid School have been successful at leading universities around the world and many are now taking on important roles within the growing emirate of Dubai.
