When the BSME CPD Programme began in earnest, in 2011, we had only half a dozen schools officially listed as ‘host schools’. To date, thirty-five schools have already hosted for us and we now have forty-seven schools (approximately 65% of the total membership!) registered as willing hosts. That is a fantastic statistic and a real testament to the credibility of the the rapidly growing CPD Programme.

Such keen support is not only much appreciated, it is also essential to the success of the programme. Without it, the BSME CPD Programme simply could not run in the manner in which it does currently. Our sincere thanks go to all our host schools across the region.

How should host schools book their free places?

To claim host school free places, you will need to fill in the Host School Free Place form. Please click on the link below to download the form.

Booking Form - Host School Free Place

Please email this form to Sam via cpdassistant@bsme.org.uk before the course booking deadline. Please DO NOT register your free places online - all delegates registered online will be charged. Should host schools wish to book any additional (chargeable) places, they should do so on-line, in the ‘Programmes and Courses’ Section of the CPD area.

Kind Regards,

BSME CPD Coordinator

Comments/Description

A member of the International Schools Group, Dhahran British Grammar School provides a quality education for expatriate children residing in Saudi Arabia.

The school population has an international clientele, there are almost 60 nationalities, which offers us a rich and diverse culture. The basis of our culture lies in our values: Responsibility, Acceptance, Integrity and Respect, with a commitment to act.

The school is accredited by the BSO, BSME and CIS. We are also an examination centre for Cambridge and Edexcel.

Pupils are taught by suitably qualified and experienced staff who are qualified and largely experienced, British teachers. We are all committed to learning and all teachers engage in professional development, which drives our strategic direction.

Specialist lessons offered in Key Stage 2 are Music, Art, ICT, Design Technology, Arabic, Physical Education and French. Our facilities are excellent and extensive, covering the learning needs of a highly motivated and active student body.

There is a library complex with over 100,000 books and increasingly well technologically connected to information, across the world.  The facility supervised by a Head Librarian and four full-time members of staff.

DBGS offers a comprehensive after-school activity programme from Years 3 to 13. World-class facilities include  two gyms, a 45 x 90 metre Astroturf football pitch, a 5-a-side Astroturf pitch, long-jump track and pit, dance studio, fitness centre, a 1,000 seat auditorium a 300 seat mini-theatre and a 10 metre climbing tower.

The Parent Volunteer Group organises a variety of family and school-based events throughout the year. Their main role is fund-raising and they have been extremely successful in recent years in providing additional school resources and equipment as well as organising fun events for our children.

Among all of our stakeholders, we encourage a culture of consultation and free communication - we allow the best ideas to be implemented, as the school constantly strives to improve. Feel free to get in touch.
