UK International Education Strategy

BSME welcomed the launched of the UK’s “International Education Strategy”.

BSME is grateful for the opportunity it was given to contribute to the “co-creation” of the strategy at three BIS workshops devoted to this task. We welcome and support the strategy and look forward to playing an active role in the development and realisation of the objectives, as they relate to the overseas schools sector.

BSME does, however, have some doubts as to the relevance of the work of the Education Sector Council, (set up under the strategy) to the needs of overseas schools that do NOT have a UK parent school. It is considered that a second body is needed to serve the wider needs of all good British schools outside of the borders of the United Kingdom.
